The Student Senate is composed of 28 members, with 6 senators elected and one class president elected from each class.

The Senate meets every Tuesday at 7:30 PM in the Mason Hall Conference Room.  All Senate meetings are open to the public, and we encourage all students to come and see how we operate!

The Senate has the following five committees:

  • Handles all financial matters, and serves on the Student Activities Commission.

  • Appoints students to SGA-chartered groups and evaluates their performance
  • Also approves new student groups

  • Deals with Student Advising, the Registrar, and the Academic Council to improve the academic atmosphere for students

  • Works to improve the health, safety, or general well-being of Hopkins students.
  • When possible incentivizes students to solve campus problems themselves.

  • Tasked with improving services currently available to Hopkins students as well as creating SGA-sponsored services to fill needs that the administration cannot or will not provide.
  • Works with students, student groups, and private businesses to further these goals.
