About Us

The Off-Campus Housing Database is a website designed to help students better find places to live around Johns Hopkins University. We aim to provide as much information as possible so students can make informed housing decisions.

This project was commissioned by the Johns Hopkins University Student Government Association (JHU SGA) in the Fall of 2010 and was delivered by the Spring 2011 semester. Kirk Sabnani, as Technical Project Lead, oversaw the software engineering of the project and contributed to systems administration. Additionally, Kirk also added contact information for major properties as well as "Shush" ratings provided by Carrie Bennett, Hopkins Student/Community Liaison and Compliance Officer. Joanna Gawlik helped collecting initial photography and led the advertising campaign. Claire Goldschmidt provided graphic design and Evan Goldschmidt was the lead developer, contributing initial software engineering and systems administration. Mark Dirzulaitis planned and conducted the initial survey.
