| In the course of his duties ministering to the detainees held at Guantanamo Bay, the chaplain was officially recognized twice for his outstanding performance.In 2003, Chaplain Yee was accused of espionage and aiding alleged Al-Qaeda and Taliban prisoners. While being held in solitary confinement in a Navy brig for seventy-six days, he was subjected to sensory deprivation techniques similar to those practiced at Guantanamo Bay. After a government investigation, all charges were dropped and Chaplain Yee was fully reinstated.Chaplain Yee chronicles his experience in his book, For God and Country: Faith and Patriotism Under Fire. |
